Alpine is an Australian band led by front women Lou James and Phoebe Baker.  Between their remarkable voices, sweet synth sounds and catchy melodies, the six piece ensemble band has become an instant favorite of mine.  (Plus they’re Australian, and I seem to have a thing for all things Australian at the moment.)
Their debut album, A is for Alpine, hits US stores on May 21st, but in the meantime, get a taste of their awesomeness in their video for the song Gasoline below.  Not only is the tune brilliant, the undulating choreography of pastel-clad bodies, gives the song a whole new depth of enjoyment.  I love this video.  It’s right up my alley and it’s brilliantly put together by choreographer Stephen Tannos, and director Emma Tomelty, with fabulous editing from Dinusha Ratnaweera.
Alpine is performing in LA early next month at the El Rey Theater.  Get your tickets here and be sure to say hi if you see me there… I’ll be the one in pastel dancing up front.
