This week, in honor of her trip to Disney World, her blog has taken on a DIY-isney Theme with a variety of guest posts from around the Blogisphere. She kicked things off with a post from yours truly on how to take your own Disneyland Folklore Tour. I’m pretty proud of it, so please check it out and enjoy all the other wonderful posts old and new!
Writing that post and Kate’s current blog theme got me thinking of all the things I love about Disney. So in celebration of that, I’d like to propose a Disney Toast! Here are a few scathingly brilliant DIY recipes for some Disney-inspired cocktails and mocktails!
The Daisy Duck – Sweet and Slightly Tart
1/4 cup white rum
2 lemon peels
1/2 cup Mango Snapple
1/4 cup Galliano liqueur
1/4 cup tonic water
Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake till super cold. Serve in a dainty glass with a white feather garnish.
The Swiss Family Robinson – Deliciously Adventurous
1/2 cup Vanilla vodka
1/4 cup Frangelico liqueur
1 tbs Kahlua
1 tbs Creme de Cocoa
Whipped Cream
Shake all ingredients besides the whipped cream lightly in a cocktail shaker and chill. Pour into a martini glass and top with whipped cream.
The Castaway (A Haylie Mills classic film and a modest mocktail) – Tropical and Upbeat
1/4 cup blueberry juice
1/4 cup pomegranate juice
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Sprite
Combine all chilled ingredients in a tall glass. Add an umbrella and enjoy!
The Pluto – Loyal and Friendly
Bourbon
1 sugar cube
Agoustra bitters
coca cola classic
1 maraschino cherry
Soak sugar cube with 2 dabs of bitters. Half fill glass with bourbon and add a splash of coke. Add 2 ice cubes and your cherry and stir lightly.
The Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade – A crazy mix of colors and flavors that can only be explained as something from the 1980’s
1 tbs dark rum
1 tbs bourbon
1 tbs gin
1/4 vodka
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup grapefruit juice
1 tbs sherbert
Fill cocktail shaker 1/4 full of ice and shake all ingredients, except sherbert, until well mixed. Fill high ball glass with ice, scatter in sherbet and pour mixture over the ice. Put on your best glow sticks, turn off the lights and have fun!
I can't wait to try these new cocktail recipes! I never drink but these are to fun to resist!
