One of my personal goals for this year was to go vintage shopping and really do it right. You see I’ve always loved the idea of wearing vintage, and I had accumulated a few pieces from friends and a couple online purchases, but I had never been able to actually go to a vintage store and search through the masses of stuff. It always kind of felt dirty to me and I just didn’t have the patience to ravage through the racks and racks of clothing to find a gem.
I realize now that perhaps I didn’t enjoy thrift shopping in the past because I was going to the wrong stores. The vintage excursion we went on in Portland really showed me how fabulous vintage/thrift store shopping can be. It wasn’t exhausting and fruitless, it was fun! And I think I kinda got the bug now, cause I can’t seem to stop!
Here are just a few of my finds:
Just to show me that LA had plenty of great vintage stores too, the boy took me to one on La Brea Avenue this past weekend, and once again I loved it! I walked away with three more vintage dresses (yeah, I know, more dresses! What’s wrong with me?) But all in all, I think I can safely say that I got this vintage shopping thing down!
Do you enjoy vintage shopping? Link me, I’d love to hear about it! 😉
that last dress is so fab! i'd love to go to those shops, that's for sure! vintage shopping in nashville is embarrassingly overpriced. such a buzzkill but there's always goodwill!
